We continue to explore ways to dress up our store or make it a more pleasing shopping experience. Contacting us with any suggestions you have, or about any problems you experienced, or about parts you found difficult would be welcome and appreciated.

This store is now configured to include shipping charges in your confirmed order total.

We do not receive credit card information. That is handled by our payment gateway provider using strict security protocol. An order will be followed by an automatic confirmation email. A customer will have the information needed to inquire about an order, change it, or cancel it prior to shipment. PayPal cancellations may operate differently. This all assumes contact is timely, prior to shipment. Once shipped, all orders are considered final.

We ship what was ordered. Nothing is shipped on approval. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so all things remain negotiable, but there is no entitlement to return something that was shipped as ordered. Any return that does occur must be authorized. Customers pay all shipping charges, including packaging and handling. When actual shipping is paid by credit card, there is a small percentage handling fee. We will nevertheless make every effort to make everyone satisfied with any transaction.

A return request may be refused, or a restocking/depreciation fee may be deducted from any return credit. We will do our best to ensure fairness and good relations with a responsible and reasonable customer. Sales are fully supported by expert answers to questions and by friendly and candid advice prior to placing an order. If at any time unsure about placing an order, please feel free to contact Bob Lewis personally.

To summarize our policy, no harm in asking, but we reserve the right to say "no" to a return request, when we ship what was ordered. Regardless, any return must be in the same condition as when first shipped and subject to being resold without apologies for its less than "new" condition. Without that, a full credit will not be considered. Any amount will be determined after we inspect the return. We do, of course, accept full responsibility for any mistakes or oversights in processing your order.

Contact Us by Email Phone our shop at 864-868-0698.

You may, and probably will, receive further email contact after your order is downloaded for fulfillment and analyzed for processing. That is especially true for instrument orders where there may be questions about some option not addressed by the ordering process. "Chord layout" is a good example, since we usually do not recommend the factory layout.

We have many happy customers and want you to be one of them. Any complaints have been very rare, we learned from those few, and did our best to set things right. We do not benefit from unhappy customers. Testimonials available on request.

  • Autoharps for Sale

The autoharps presented here reflect the personal endorsements of Bob Lewis, based on his 30+ years experience with all things autoharp. While Autoharp Works is a full fledged Oscar Schmidt dealer, many models are conspicuous by their absence here. The display here simply includes only the models we "like" and with which Bob cares to be identified. The result is that this display is suggesting what instrument purchase options are believed to be in the customer's best interest. There are nicer autoharps available elsewhere but not in this price range.

Our pricing is based upon the fact that we do not sell autoharps as-is from the box. The autoharps direct from the factory are not ready-to-play without significant attention to detail. Autoharp Works is a custom shop, not an internet discounter. The goal is to be proud of what is offered and to have grateful and loyal customers. All autoharps are carefully prepared to the same standard as if Bob had to play the autoharp personally. There is significant bench time and parts expense involved in bringing the customer an optimized autoharp that can perform to its potential.

For someone who might want a fancy grade autoharp beyond what is offered here, the suggestion would be to contact Tom Fladmark at Fladmark Woodworks, RR2, Box 437, Sunbury, PA 17801, (570) 286-5044, fladmark@hughes.net. That range would be $1200-2000. There are a number of other luthiers producing worthy instruments, but Tom Fladmark's are the only ones Bob plays or cares to own for his personal use. Given more confidence about what other builders are currently producing, other sincere recommendations might be possible.

You won't find any hyperbole in the product descriptions here. We despise that as commercial dishonesty. We do not just sell stuff and count money. It is important to be proud of our products or at least the relative value they provide. Nothing here is intentionally misrepresented or gushed over out of ignorance. We know our products, we know the market, and do not sell anything we would not consider buying personally in the customer's context.
