21 chord kit for a Chromaharp?

Postby Fstpicker » Sun Sep 13, 2009 10:14 am

As a new autoharp player, I have just purchased a used 15-chord chromaharp in excellent condition. If I should ever decide to upgrade it to a 21-chord layout, are there places where I can get a 21-chord upgrade kit specifically for a Chromaharp?

Or will a 21-chord kit for an OS work alright on a chromaharp? I have "googled" this subject and have found little to no information regarding an answer to this specific question.

Thank you for your help.

There is a 21 bar chord set available and end holders sold separately. There is no complete kit. They present it all as repair parts rather than a conversion kit. The parts don't show on the website but are in my dealer catalog. I have them in stock.

The Oscar Schmidt chord set will work but all the bars would need to be refelted to get the right string alignment. The 36 strings are spread 9", whereas the Oscar Schmidt set assumes a spread of 8 3/4".
